2011 Klondike - Save the Date!

When: January 14-16, 2011.

Where: From Cismont, go 4 miles north on RT. 231. Site on left. From Gordonsville, go south on Rt. 231 5.2 miles. Site on right.

                  Signs will be posted.

Who’s Invited:     Boy Scouts for the Weekend, Webelos just on Sat.

For Webelos:    A day event for all Webelos dens who want to enjoy the fun of scouting with other Webelos and Boy Scout Troops. Throughout the day, Webelos will pull a sled they have brought with them (or constructed) to a variety of stations run by Boy Scout troops. The stations will be skills, learning, and just great fun. At the end of the day, Dens will race each other in The Race to see who is the fastest den present. This is a great opportunity for boys and parents to spend time with BS and their leaders as Webelos transition into Boy Scouting. More info is Here.

Sled List:

Small First Aid Kit

Small Tarp

7 pieces of rope or cord for lashing

1 piece of string for whipping the ends of a new rope

Fire-making materials for two fires. No large wood. Small fires both.

Matches

Flint and steel or other alternative lighting method.

Paper wax covered cup

1 large egg

At least 2 walking staffs

Blindfolds for the entire patrol

1 gallon of water in re useable containers of choice.

2 large potatoes

Compass

Frozen Klondike bar of choice
