PACK 206 Family Pack Camping Trip
BSA Camp Shenandoah Campground, Swoope, VA
Pack 206 goes overnight camping twice a year and the fall trip is upon us!!!! This is a great opportunity to expose young Scouts to the fun of camping. The overnight camp will include fishing, hiking, games, and a campfire program. Family camp is open to all registered Cub scouts and their families. We expect a big turnout for this overnight trip and look forward to having a great time. Every Pack member is welcome whether you can participate in the overnighters or just come for the day. We have reserved a large group site for this event. There is a bathhouse near the campsite. Officially we only offer 1 night of camping on Saturday night. However, for the more experience campers and those who want to help with setup, Friday night is also reserved for the Pack. Just lets us know on the form 1 or 2 nights.
When:
- September 23,24, & 25 2011
- Den's may want to work out carpools
- Arrive at camp 5:30 p.m. Friday or 9 a.m. Saturday
Cost: $12 per camper with a maximum of $48 per family
Who: Cub scouts and family are welcome. Every child must have a parent or legal guardian present at the camp. Parents must notify the Cubmaster if you intend to send you Scout with another family. This is managemable but safegaurds need to be in place. It is family camp and it is strongly recommend to camp with your family.
Activities: All activities are designed to involve all the scouts, fostering team-work, camaraderie, and fun. Parents are expected to accompany their child throughout the day’s events. Hiking, games, campfire program – Jokes and stories

We Need Volunteers! Pack camping is lots of fun, but we need help to make the trip as fun as possible for the kids. We need volunteers to help: run games, fishing – bait hooks, measure and tally fish, etc., food preparation and cooking coordination, cook/clean
Tents: No children are allowed to sleep in tents with non-guardian adults or non-family children of the opposite sex
Food: Pack will provide food for Sat (B,L,D) and Sun (B). ***Peanuts will be around for trails mixes
Health Forms are a MUST!!! (Only need Class A) - Need one for everyone who is attending (Parents, sibilings, scouts)
Essentials: BSA List of Stuff you may need
- Dinner on Friday (if you come on Friday)
- Tent(s) – be sure to setup in advance to make sure all parts are present and operational!
- Sleeping bag or blankets
- Water bottles
- Comfortable shoes for hiking
- Flashlights
- Sunscreen, insect repellent (non-aerosol)
- Change of clothes
- Fishing poles and tackle (lake fishing)
- Folding chairs
- Optional Gear: Sleeping mats or air mattresses
- Campfire skewers for marshmallows and hot dogs
